It’s My Party and I’ll Cry If I Want To

Well, today is my 29th birthday and my landlord decided that a nice early birthday gift yesterday would be to give us 60 days to leave our Pasadena Cottage.  :(

I guess they are planning to sell the place, and the cash offer they are expecting (the buyer reached out to them but has not put the offer in yet) would be a 30-day escrow. By law, they have to give us 60 days notice to terminate the lease, so they are basically getting us out of the way now so we won’t cause any hiccups in their selling process. Woop-de-doo. Needless to say, Walker and I had a sad/mad day yesterday but ultimately decided that, even though we love this place, it is just four walls and we will be just fine anywhere as long as we are together. Everything will work out. After all, this house certainly wasn’t perfect, so we will use it as a learning experience for picking out the next place. I am just nervous because it took us 3-4 months to find the cottage the first time around since little places with yards don’t pop up very often in our price range. We have to be out by March 3, so that does not leave us much time, but I have to keep reminding myself that everything will work out.

Anyway, it feels really strange to be moving on from our place so quickly. I feel like we finally just got all settled in over the last few months. Before we start packing, I will do my best to take and share some photos of the space, as very few people in our lives even got to see it!

So here we go… onto the next adventure! Despite it’s rocky start, I have a feeling 29 will be a great year.
