What a Weekend!

I know I have been M.I.A. for a few days, but for those of you who follow me on Twitter know that I went back to upstate NY on a whirlwind celebratory weekend!

Events included:

Thursday – flew all day and arrived in NY late Thursday early Friday morning (+3 hours sleep and jet lag)
Friday – My brother Connor’s graduation party! (+4 hours sleep and jet lag)
Saturday – My best friend Laura’s bridal shower followed by her bachelorette party (+4 hours sleep and jet lag)
Sunday – hangover and plane ride home (+LOTS OF SLEEP IN MY OWN BED!!)

I had such a blast celebrating with many people I love but I am so happy to be done traveling and back home with my men (one of them wiggled so hard I thought his tail might fall off!  I’ll let you guess which one I am talking about). I know I won’t be able to get myself organized for a photo update post today so I will see you tomorrow with lots of awesome pictures of my trip! :)

Bathroom Textiles and Doggie Dunce

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Ours was fairly uneventful with the exception of two things:

1. We FINALLY got new towels and a bathmat for the bathroom from Target! How adorable is that rug?! I love it so much I want to snuggle up on it! I warned Walker that he shouldn’t be alarmed to walk in and find me curled up on it! Now all we need is a shower curtain (about which I think we have finally come to a consensus… more later!) and I will feel like it is done enough to call it done.

2. Our dog is so stinkin’ cute… but sometimes he is as dumb as a box of rocks. On Saturday afternoon, he got so worked up barking at the gate that he either got himself nipped at by another dog through the opening or whacked his own face on the gate. Either way, the poor thing had a bloody nose and scared the crap out of us!  He sneezed and it looked like a can of red spray paint. Anyway, he is fine… but we need to figure out what to do with the gap in the gate so he won’t get hurt again.  We were thinking perhaps something pliable (like rubber?) so we can still open the gate when we need to.

Here is the adorable dingus now, surrounded by all of his toys.  I was just telling Walker that there needed to be more Bo in the blog.  His response was, “Wasn’t there a picture of him a few posts ago?” and my response was “Exactly.  Unacceptable.”

Independence Day Recap

Anyone else feel like today was a huge letdown after a random Wednesday off yesterday? Getting back to real life today was like pulling teeth.  So let’s reminisce about the good-old-days (i.e. yesterday) with a few pictures!

Gorgeous little garden table!

Happy Birthday America! :)

Red, White, and Blue Cheers!
Please disregard the almost-dead lime tree in the background.

My man got me flowers a couple of days ago but I wanted to share them anyway!

Did I ever mention that I am a secret pie genius?
P.S. I made this a couple days ago but we enjoyed the last few pieces yesterday so it counts toward today’s photos!

We had a small view of the fireworks from our yard. But this was the best pic I could manage. Oh well!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  Now back to the grind…
