Afghan & Dog (not an Afghan dog)
I am so happy that the theme week is back under control. :)
Probably the best thing we brought back from the holiday visits was the green afghan throw blanket that my mom crocheted for Walker for Christmas. Last year, she made me a beautiful red afghan for the living room, which happened to arrive in the mail on our first ever “fake snow day” (*see footnote below). We use it all the time so my mom decided to make one for the bedroom. She saw the color we painted the accent wall (more on this next post!) and knew our bedding was black and white. So she brought us some color (and sunshine as she always does)!
And then Bo decided it was his. Sorry Walker. Thanks Mom- we love youuuu!
*Fake snow day: Growing up in much colder places, Walker and I both miss having snow days that force you to stay inside and be lazy/indulgent. We go grocery shopping the day before so that the day can look like some variation of the following: cinnamon rolls and a crossword, movie in our pajamas, Scrabble/Yatzee/cards with a mid-afternoon cocktail and snack, cook a big dinner, go to bed early to the sound of fake snowflakes falling outside. This day can also be referred to as “let’s pretend we are old people” day.
